Encore Music Academy Announces Tim Janiszewski as New Intermezzo Orchestra Conductor

Encore Music Academy is excited to announce the appointment of Tim Janiszewski as the new conductor of the Intermezzo Orchestra beginning with the 2024–2025 season.

Following a month-long search process, EMA-YO welcomed three finalist candidates to work directly with the Intermezzo Orchestra during a regular rehearsal this past Sunday. The full EMA-YO artistic staff participated in observing and evaluating each candidate as part of a collaborative discussion centered on the future goals and artistic vision of the program.

After a final interview this week, EMA-YO is pleased to officially welcome Mr. Janiszewski to the artistic team.

Tim Janiszewski is a conductor, educator, and published composer with extensive experience working with youth musicians and orchestral ensembles throughout the Chicagoland area. He holds degrees in Music Education, Music Theory/Composition, and Orchestral Conducting. His previous conducting positions include the Illinois Valley Youth Symphony, Midwest String Orchestra, and Naperville Summer Place Theatre. In addition to his conducting work, he has taught instrumental music at Liberty Jr. High School and Lake Forest High School and previously served as a teaching artist and conductor with the El Sistema Ravinia orchestra program.

Known for his collaborative leadership style and passion for student-centered music making, Janiszewski brings a deep commitment to artistic excellence and meaningful educational experiences for young musicians.
